Here at Cosmonaut, we aim to create a forum to debate and develop revolutionary ideas in the spirit of scientific socialism. We are interested in any perspectives that go along with the spirit of our mission statement, which includes critiques of articles published by Cosmonaut. We strongly believe in the ethos of open debate amongst Marxists as vital for developing a revolutionary project. We are interested in content including but not limited to:

  • communist political strategy
  • engagements with the history of the socialist movement
  • developing Marxist theory in a way that rejects academic obscurantism as well as anti-scientific dogmatism
  • what prospects for a viable socialism in the 21st century may look like
  • critiques of various forms of leftist “common sense” that have held back the development of a mass democratic communist movement
  • communist perspectives and analysis on current events, contemporary international politics, and mass culture
  • critiques of liberal and reactionary ideologies that the left often refuses to engage with beyond mere dismissal
  • engagements on how to develop a Marxist politics that stands against all forms of oppression that goes beyond both workerism and identity liberalism.
  • translations of historical texts

If you have a pitch or draft for an article, send it to us along with a paragraph-long summary of your thesis/argument to Cosmonaut.Magazine@gmail.com. We also request sending us any other work you have published. Aim for between 2,500-20,000 words, though we will make exceptions for certain cases.
